OC looks to the future, honours the past, with new brand

oc

As we celebrate ʪƵ’s 60th Anniversary and welcome students back to campus, the College is happy to unveil OC’s new logo and brand guidelines. Developed through consultation with students, staff and members of the OC community, the new look and feel includes an expanded colour palette, a new OC icon and strong design elements.

“Our brand reflects who we are and our commitment to Inspire, students and everyone across OC,” says Jenn Goodwin, VP Enrolment and College Relations. “The OC red remains prominent and provides continuity – people will still recognize ʪƵ. With the new guidelines, though, we have more ability to showcase and present OC as a place where students can thrive and be supported through their learning experience.”

The new logo includes an OC icon whose circular shapes represent a ‘meeting of the minds’, while the broad colour palette is inspired by a sense of place and our region. The Brand Guidelines outline a specific brand architecture, encompassing portfolios, student services and corporate departments.

“Over the next few weeks and months, the College Relations department will be updating resources, including templates for presentations, business cards, signature files, and more,” says Jenn. “Meanwhile, our existing brand continues to be 100 per cent on-brand and acceptable – these guidelines allow us to transition effectively over time. Watch OC This Week for regular updates and guidance.”

About the new logo:

  • The icon mimics a viewfinder or way finder – elements that are used to find your path.
  • Two circles represent a meeting of the minds.
  • The thick/thin separation between “O” and “C” shows momentum and speaks to the learning journey.
