15th Annual OC Youth Exhibition Powwow

OC Youth Exhibition Powwow Poster

The Indigenous Services team is excited to be hosting the 15th Annual Youth Exhibition Powwow on September 20, 2024, in the Kelowna campus courtyard. Join OC in celebrating Indigenous cultures by coming together as a community with dance, song, vendors, and other activities.

For those who are interested, the powwow will be starting the morning with a tipi demonstration by Noel Ferguson at 7:45 a.m. This is a great opportunity to learn some teachings and get grounded for the day. Grand Entry will be at 9:30 a.m., and the closing ceremony will be around 2 p.m.

In partnership with ÎüʪÊÓƵ Foundation, Indigenous Services is hosting a 50/50 draw at the powwow. Proceeds from the draw will go directly to supporting Indigenous students at OC. To purchase tickets, bring cash to the powwow or stop by Student Services (S111) at the Kelowna campus any time before September 20.

  • Cost: 1 ticket for $2
  • Draw time: September 20th, 1:30pm
  • BC Gaming Event License #153580

The Indigenous Services team is still looking for more volunteers to help make this event a success. Last year's Youth Powwow was an amazing day thanks to all the volunteers, and they hope you will consider joining them again. Feel free to share the link with other interested folks. We will send out a package closer to September 20 with your duties and responsibilities for the event. .

Indigenous Services will be selling orange shirts at the powwow for $20 (cash only). They have a few different styles you can choose from. Wearing an orange shirt is a visual representation of your commitment to honoring Residential School Survivors and remembering those who never came home. To learn more, visit the .
